The End Abortion Podcast: Why Does God Permit Bad Things to Happen to Good People? 8-2-2026

from End Abortion Podcast · host Frank Pavone

Our Daily Scripture Readings and Reflection: Why does God allow suffering, loss, persecution, and hardship in the lives of good people? In this Scripture reflection, Frank Pavone turns to Romans 8 and explains that no trial can separate us from the love of God. Although suffering is never easy, God can use it to free us from unhealthy attachments, deepen our dependence on Him, reset our priorities, and lead us toward holiness. We may lose possessions, relationships, reputation, health, or positions—but we do not lose Christ unless we reject Him. In every hardship, God remains our refuge, our foundation, and our source of peace. God permits trials not because He has abandoned us, but because He wants to draw us closer and make us saints. “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life… nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38–39
