THE ENEMIES OF THE CROSS | Praying The Promises | MARCH 13TH 2026Philippians 3:18 (KJV) "For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ."For us as believers, the Cross stands as the ultimate expression of redemption and victory. Yet there are those who, though they walk among us, live in ways that oppose its power and meaning. To be an enemy of the Cross is to practice a form of religion that follows Christ on your own terms, to live in hypocrisy contrary to His Word, or to promote teachings and practices that distort the truth we know. It is also to reject Jesus as Lord or to persist in ungodliness, thereby denying the transforming power of His finished work.To uphold the Cross requires a decisive break from self-centred faith and a wholehearted submission to the way of Christ. It means accepting the cost of discipleship—choosing obedience over convenience, truth over compromise, and faithfulness over approval. When we embrace the Cross, we allow it to confront our motives, reshape our desires, and govern our conduct, producing a life that reflects Christ rather than merely speaks His name.Today, rather than being an enemy of the cross by leaning on human manipulation, uphold the cross by trusting in the finished work of Christ. This posture acknowledges that true spiritual life flows not from outward religion, but from inward transformation made possible through Christ’s sacrifice, leading us to walk in righteousness, perseverance, and authentic devotion.
