The Entry Interview

from The Manager Track · host Ramona Shaw

In this episode, I'll share what an Entry Interview is and how it can help you ignite strong relationships with your new hires. The Entry Interview is a concept I first heard about from Adam Grant. I consider it an important step in the employee onboarding experience to have quality time with their new manager and to discuss their personal goals, preferences, and needs beyond what was shared during the interview process. At the same time, the Entry Interview will allow the new hire to ask their manager (i.e. YOU) questions that they may not have dared to ask before securing the job. Listen in as I'm sharing with you more about the idea of the Entry Interview but also specific questions to consider for the conversations. -- RESOURCES MENTIONED -- Contact Ramona for Personality-Type and Behavioral Assessments at [email protected] Adam Grant's Entry Interview survey template: https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/adam-grant-entry-interview-template/ Connect with Ramona on Instagram or LinkedIn Grab your copy of Ramona's best-selling new book 'The Confident & Competent New Manager: How to Rapidly Rise to Success in Your First Leadership Role': https://amzn.to/3TuOdcP If this episode inspired you in some way, take a screenshot of you listening on your device and post it to your Instagram Stories, and tag me @ramona.shaw.leadership or DM me on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/ramona-shaw/ Are you in your first manager role and don't want to mess it up?
