The Evolution of the "Spicy Latina" With Maria Garcia

This week on Locatora Radio, Diosa sits down with podcast creator and executive editor, Maria Garcia, to unpack the Spicy Latina trope, it's origins, and the complicated reasons we sometimes identify with these characters. Think: Salma Hayek in Fool's Rush-In. Maria is the host and producer of a new podcast: Muy Excited with Maria Garcia, a new podcast exploring the moments that shape pop culture.  Together, they get into some pop culture moments like why the media owes Britney Spears an apology, how JLO sorta pushed back on the spicy Latina trope, and the evolution of said trope.Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/locatora_productionsSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
