The Expedition of Humphry Clinker Letter 30 - from TAB. BRAMBLE to Dr LEWIS

In which a certain Tab Bramble, with a humour both sharp and quaint, inveighs against those who would pilfer his humble possessions and meditations, especially the worthy butter-milk intended for far more important uses than for the swinish pigs of the parish. He entreats his correspondent Dr Lewis to forbear from advising his brother towards such troublesome arrangements, preferring rather the sweeter succour of raisins than the loss of his hard-earned gains.
