After KK returned, we found the dead Hannya and attempted to stop the lead Hannya's ritual. Despite Akito's persistent efforts and a daring jump, the ritual seemed completed, throwing us back. I started following the creature as KK was suggesting me to go for its tail to sever its connection to this realm. KK was not being seen in his physical form, but I could hear him clearly through our spiritual link. His voice was the only thing keeping me focused in this strange, distorted environment. I started following the creature, but it was a tough job navigating the shifting light. As I was not sure what to do about its speed, and when I was trying to attack it directly, I was getting spotted immediately. I had to be much more methodical. Every time I was getting spotted, I kept hiding in the only hiding spot available to avoid its lethal gaze. From there, I checked on the creature's patterns and at last, I destroyed one of its three tails. The beast shrieked, the sound vibrating through the floor. Suddenly, the shift of the surreal world changed, and the creature got banished for a moment as the colors warped and bled together. The architecture around me twisted, reflecting the damage I had dealt to the spirit. I braced myself for the next phase of the encounter. Then I noticed it came back, more aggressive than before as it searched the ruins for my location. As I understood my objective perfectly this time, I moved through the shadows and destroyed another tail real fast. So it was the last tail I needed to take care of, but it got a lot tougher as the creature got more careful with its movements. It stayed fast on movements, rarely leaving an opening for me. But at last I made it, hitting the final weak point. After destroying all three tails, the creature got vanished into a cloud of dark essence and KK returned to me. Akito found the dead body of the Hannya nearby, a grim reminder of the cost of this pursuit. There was the lead Hannya working on their ritual stage, having his daughter beside him as a vessel. To stop them, Akito tried to rush to them before the final words could be spoken. But the ground started shaking and opening up, revealing a void beneath the ritual site. Akito was so persistent as he wanted to save his sister anyhow, regardless of the danger. He ran fast and tried to attack the Hannya after trying a big jump. But something happened that threw Akito backwards with a massive wave of spiritual energy. It looked like the ritual was completed after all, as a light erupted from the stone the Hannya was working on. I'll show what happens next later.
