As the families of five young men mourned, investigators began to circle around their top suspect, Bevan Spencer von Einem. From the outside looking in, von Einem was incredibly average: a middle-aged accountant for a mid-level supplies company, who lived at home with his mother and regularly endeared himself to her older friends. But underneath the surface, a monster lingered, and police quickly tagged von Einem as the culprit in the latest of the five murders. In the decades since, though, the other four crimes have gone non-prosecuted. Many believe that von Einem did not act alone in the murder that he was convicted of, and may have had help from some of the area's rich and powerful: individuals that have come to be known as "The Family"...Part two of twoI originally covered this story back in 2017.
