The Family Room - Overcome the Spiritual War
from The Quest Atlanta Catholic Radio
Guest: Fr. Tamiru Atraga, priest of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, Healing MinistryA beloved member of the Atlanta priesthood, Fr. Tamiru Atraga was born in Ethiopia and received his name after his parents were told both he and his mother would die during his gestation. Mary appeared in a dream, encouraging Mr. Atraga to pray, and both survived. The name Tamiru means miracle. As one of 14 children, Tamiru’s upbringing was hard, walking barefoot three miles to high school. His father trusted God and although a simple teacher, he built a chapel in his home where Mary appeared, asking him to start a healing ministry. He became locally famous, never accepting money for the healings God performed through him. Young Tamiru went to high school at a minor seminary in Ethiopia with the Vincentian Fathers, and after more than 10 years studying in Ethiopia, he moved to America, studying six more years at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, Massachusetts, and then serving the Archdiocese of Boston. It was early in his priesthood when he discovered God had also gifted him with a healing ministry of his own.Fr. Tamiru knows Satan is real and not a “power” or “force”. We ignore him at our own peril! Padre Pio says that only our weakened free will opens the door to Satan. Father Tamiru explains how to close it!
