The Fear Factor

from "I Heard That" (Podcast) with Coach Clarence · host Clarence Ferguson

A statistic from the Cleveland Clinic found 63% of men of color, particularly black men, don't get health checkups and wait to go to the doctor until they’re in pain or their symptoms can no longer be ignored. According to Dr. Greg Jones the Founder of Enovative Wellness Center, the reasons men bury their heads in the sand when it comes to their health is they don’t have time, mistrust the medical profession, and the fear factor that there may be something seriously wrong with them. A lot of men were raised on the miracle of Vicks, plant rubs, and lemon tea so going to a traditional or naturopathic doctor is scary. Three things that contribute to your health after age 40 are not drinking enough water, eating inflammatory foods such as sugars, flour, dairy, and processed foods, and stress which affects everything. If you want to feel better Enovative Wellness Center just launched the Vitamin Bar which includes hormones, peptides, nutrients, and an array of vitamins to help with headaches, energy, hangovers, and hydration. They also provide healthy injections right into the muscle for better and faster absorption than a pill. Dr. Jones prefers seeing patients in person, does not take insurance, and suggests you go through your PCP to get your bloodwork done before your initial consultation with him.
