Turning Heartache into Hope with Gary and Pam Roberts Returning guests residing in Florida with their two beautiful daughters, Gary and Pam, were building by all standards a typical All-American life and loving every minute of it.  That was until they discovered that their daughter, Lauren, had a hidden drug addiction. Induced from a prescription of painkillers following a serious accident, their daughter, with a heart of gold, found herself with a serious opiate dependency and fighting demons that were hard to contain. With her parents by her side, Lauren would seek treatment through various treatment centers but would find herself relapsing and addicted to something more serious. Unafraid of challenges and relentlessly trying to save their daughter, Gary, and Pam became determined to find a natural solution to the drug epidemic plaguing our world. Then in 2018, Pam and Gary received a call that would change their world forever.  Facing every parent's worse nightmare, Lauren was on life support and wasn't going to make it.  She later died from an overdose. With their world turned upside and left with so many questions, as well as witnessing firsthand the gaps in current rehabilitation protocols, Gary and Pam knew that something needed to change, and they were going to have to do it. Now on a mission to keep their promise to their daughter, Gary, and Pam have turned their loss into hope for changing a broken system. Aiming to become leaders in innovative therapeutics, the founders of Promises Innovative Recovery are changing the narrative of addiction and PTSD trauma through plant-based medicine in hopes that one day we will see an end to loss through addiction.
