The Fearless Happyness Podcast Episode 88 with Danielle Rae Deide

from Fearless Happyness Podcast · host Max Nijst

Finding A Healthy Balance with Danielle Rae Diede A certified trainer and fitness enthusiast, Danielle Rae is passionate about helping others feel good about themselves by creating a healthy, well-balanced fit and nutrition lifestyle. Growing up feeling incredibly insecure, Danielle became obsessed with fitness at an early age. Wanting to fit in, she felt that people would only appreciate or like her if she looked a certain way. She tried to maintain a ridiculously small, petite body, which proved difficult and became very unhealthy for Danielle. When she realized she couldn't keep up, Danielle fell off the bandwagon and quit working out. She began to binge on every food and gained a lot of weight, eventually slipping into a depression. Having always dealt with mental illness, Danielle used exercise as her outlet to keep her depression at bay. Without it, her depression would always come back. Then after a series of serious events and illnesses in her family, Danielle knew it was time to pursue her dreams. She pulled herself out of her depression again and moved forward with competing in the NPC Bikini category. For the next four years, Danielle began to train hard and diet strictly to accomplish her goal.    Once ready, she competed in several shows and, during her last show, placed in the top 3 in 2 groups, leaving her feeling accomplished. However, once the shows were over and the excitement died down, Danielle still felt lost. Unsure where she wanted to go, Danielle began to worry that all of her old habits would return. As competition taught her discipline, challenged her, and allowed her to work with some amazing people, she knew it was not a realistic way to live her life. That is when God answered her prayers. After that, Danielle became pregnant with a son and found a way still to incorporate exercise into her life in a healthy way and spend time and be there for her family. Now the mother of two, Danielle has found the perfect balance of being in great shape without spending hours in the gym or meal prepping. She doesn't stress about what she eats or worry about being perfect anymore. Instead, she has taken her struggles with identity and self-esteem to create positive and effective fitness and health programs that she can share with others to help them feel good about themselves in a healthy way that is easy to maintain. Listen in as Danielle, and I discuss her self-esteem and body image struggles, her trials, and how she overcame them to find her path to FEARLESS HAPPYNESS!
