The Feast of Saint Bartholomew, Apostle

Today, the feast of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, the readings explore what it means to be called, known, and built into something larger than ourselves. The first reading offers a breathtaking vision of a holy city whose very foundations bear the names of the twelve apostles. The Gospel then takes us back to the beginning, to the moment one of those apostles first encountered Jesus — and found himself already seen.
