The Fight Business Podcast #7: Legacy Fighting Alliance CEO Ed Soares

from Fight Business Podcast · host Patrick Auger

Ed Soares joins Patrick Auger and Michael Fiedel on Episode 7 of the Fight Business Podcast.  Soares, the CEO of Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), discusses the organization's packed July schedule. The promotion has four events planned with four title fights.  LFA's distribution partner, UFC Fight Pass, has enabled the promotion faster (and safer) than other events. With no need for live attendance, LFA can stream high-quality bouts to the world via UFC Fight Pass.  Soares explains that there are still some challenges for LFA during this time, including the need to restructure contracts with sponsors and set up comprehensive testing and safety procedures for fighters and staff attending the upcoming events in July.  Soares says that LFA is going "above and beyond" what the state regulations are and that fighters will need to be "almost quarantined" after taking tests on arrival. LFA will work with Sanford Medical to deliver testing and acceptable safety measures during fight week and beyond.  Soares is confident that LFA can produce 17 events in 2020, saying that there'll be another 13 this year.  But the plan doesn't change for LFA. Soares explains that the goal is to remain as the top developmental organization in the world and continue finding talent that can eventually move through to the UFC and Bellator.  Don't miss this episode of the Fight Business Podcast!    If you enjoyed listening to this interview with Ed Soares, make sure to hit the subscribe button and stick around for more episodes of the Fight Business Podcast and more content from The Body Lock.   Subscribe to The Body Lock: https://bit.ly/35iN7bz  Like The Body Lock on Facebook: https://goo.gl/Xm7sAS  Follow The Body Lock on Twitter: https://goo.gl/zt6naT  Read more: https://thebodylockmma.com
