In August, Lipscomb University quietly added an anti-LGBTQ+ marriage statement to their website, sparking outrage in the campus community. Dr. Dana Chamblee Carpenter is a former Lipscomb professor who resigned due to a change in “attitudes” last spring; Rachel Randolph is a Lipscomb alum who realized she was gay while enrolled at the university.
