Diaz is a 48-year-old matchmaker for one of the leading boxing promoters in the world, Golden Boy Promotions. Golden Boy Promotions is a company founded and owned by 1992 Gold Medalist & 10-time World Champion Oscar “The Golden Boy” De La Hoya. Diaz has worked with numerous gifted athletes, including some of the best in boxing history such as Bernard Hopkins, Marco Antonio Barrera, Ricky Hatton, Erik Morales, Sugar Shane Mosley, and Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs. He strongly believes that boxing is a sport that - like many other sports - requires hard work, will, and dedication. He also believes that boxing is serious and can be dangerous if not taken with discipline. His bottom line is “You Don’t Play Boxing.” Diaz has been working for Golden Boy Promotions for nine years now, and he loves it like it was still his first day because every day brings something new. His roles are to make fights, which include matching the fighters, building them into world champions, and making fights that both fans and networks want to see.
