Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., is a central figure in a 50-50 split Senate. Democrats hold control but only with Vice President Kamala Harris acting as a tiebreaker.  Sinema, a centrist Democrat, holds outsize political power and has the ability to make or break President Joe Biden's legislative agenda.  She ran in 2018 on the promise to work in a bipartisan manner.
