Discussion Questions (Week commencing Sunday 28th March 2021) Daniel 9 Part 3 Whose handwriting do we find near impossible to decipher? What does this enigma imply about God’s “answering service” (vv.22-23)? What six events happen within the “seventy sevens” (v.24)? Which of these events refer to Jesus as the Anointed One? Which events seem to be still in the future? What do the “seven sevens,” “62 sevens,” and “one seven” mean? What is the significance, if any, of the three divisions? What is the “abomination that causes desolation (v.27, cf. Matt. 24:15)? Take special note of the future-tense in Matt. 24:15. For Daniel and the Lord Jesus, is the emphasis on what the future holds, or on who holds the future, or both? Explain the Gospel from this passage (vv.20-27).
