The Final Song by Kai-Anne Clews

from Original Christian Poetry · host Kai-Anne Clews

Oh beloved souls gone astray! Listen to what I have to say. Don’t take for granted this beautiful day, Don’t let it slip by you, to be gone away. For one fateful day is coming, And it’s approaching soon – That the final church bell will be rung, The final sermon preached, some unknown afternoon Or morning, or evening, But there is coming a day Where the opportunity you have now, For Salvation, will be moved away. Oh yes beloved, you who say, The preacher’s drone on and on Like a record forever on replay – But there will come a time, beloved, The very last day… Then the thunder will clap! The church bells hushed by the trumpet, Of the Angels doing as has been foretold, And there, laid bare, to whom your soul was sold. Then there will be no time for quick confessions, No time to purge the tar, No more time No more time… You are then what you are.
