The Finding of the Relics of Saints Gamaliel and Abibas, and the Martyrdom of Pope Stephen of Rome

Today we remember the finding of the relics of Saint Gamaliel, a Pharisee and teacher of Saint Paul, and his son Saint Abibas. Their relics, along with those of Saint Stephen and Saint Nikodemos, were uncovered in Jerusalem and later transferred to Constantinople. We also honor Hieromartyr Stephen, Pope of Rome, who suffered martyrdom in 257. He bravely opposed heresy and baptized many, including pagans, before being beheaded during the persecution under Emperor Valerian.Support the show
