I read The First Book of Nephi, Chapter 1. His Reign and Ministry. Lehi, Sariah, Laman, Lemuel, Nephi and Sam leave Jerusalem to flee its destruction but return to Jerusalem to obtain their genealogy from Laban. Laban refuses and eventually Nephi is constrained to kill Laban for the records and persuades Zoram to join them and return into the wilderness to Lehi and Sariah.
