“The First Ingredient”

from Capital Church Messages

Sir Edmund Hillary is known as the first person to summit Mount Everest in 1953. Lewis & Clark were the first to chart the American West. Marco Polo is responsible for traveling the Silk Road and introducing Europeans to Chinese, Indian, and Japanese culture. However, Hillary never would have made it without his sherpa, Tenzing Norgay, who had led six previous expeditions up the mountain. Lewis & Clark survived the unknown only because of the leadership of 17-year-old Sacagawea – who led the 7000 mile expedition with her newborn in tow! And Polo’s father and brother had already visited modern day China years before his famous expedition. What made each of these explorers successful was who helped them navigate the treacherous unknowns they faced. The same goes for us as disciples of Jesus. In our brand new series Overflowing Hope we’re exploring the key to navigating the unknowns of life with enduring hope.
