The First Sunday in Lent AD 2025

Just as the people of Israel were delivered from slavery in Egypt through the waters of the Red Sea, so sinful humanity is delivered from the slavery of sin, evil, and death by passing through the waters of baptism. Saint Paul says that those who are baptized have died and been buried with Christ, and have been raised with Him from the dead, so that they may «walk in newness of life».
