The Flagship: Transfers among those ‘flourishing’ for Ole Miss baseball this fall

In this edition of The Flagship, a part of the Talk of Champions podcast network, Ben Garrett (Ole Miss Spirit/On3) is joined by Rebel baseball hitting coach Mike Clement to update the Rebels’ progress over now three weeks of intrasquad scrimmages.The Rebels have three scrimmages left, including a Sunday tilt against Memphis at 1 p.m. CT. Ole Miss last week whipped Jacksonville State the what was the team’s first scrimmage against outside competition this fall.“I think it just solidified some thoughts from a coaching standpoint,” Clement said. “We’re now, from an offensive standpoint, 50 or 60 plate appearances into the fall, which is a lot. They’re going to end up with 75, some of them 80 plate appearances, which is a huge sample size for the fall.“The guys we’ve already talked about have flourished. We have some pretty good position battles going on. We probably have 11 hitters I really like, and that’s a good thing.
