Ash was the leading candidate in Herman's search for a new DC, and will take over the Texas defense following the Alamo Bowl game vs. Utah. With the defensive coordinator search officially over, the Longhorns are still in need of finding a replacement for Tim Beck after Herman stripped Beck of his OC title following the 7-5 regular season.
