Back in the 1980’s, Stephen Canup had it all. He was wealthy, climbing the career ladder at a big-money accounting firm in New York. He had perfect credit, no debt, a pretty wife and a new baby at home.We all know “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall”. Stephen learned this the hard way. In this episode, we explore his fall from riches to rags, and then into a prison cell.Today, with God’s grace and help, Stephen is the President of Freedom in Jesus Prison Ministries (FIJM), and is the author of several books. Freedom in Jesus Prison Ministries, founded by Don Castleberry, is one of the more active prison ministries in Texas. They do weekly and monthly prison visits and “crusades” to save souls. They also work closely with Kingdom Towers to provide spiritual support and transitional housing to citizens returning from to society form prison.
