The Foolishness of the Cross (1 Cor 1:18-31)

from Sermons from Aberdeen Christian Fellowship

At this morning's Baptism Service, Vijay looks at the message of the cross. The idea that the God and creator of this universe should die a degrading death on a cross appears foolish from a human perspective. But, human perspectives are limited and aren't adequate to know and perceive God. If God were really disclosing himself in the death of Jesus on the cross, we would learn not that humans are completely adequate in themselves, but dependent on God. The testimony and baptism of Callum Duncan follows the sermon.
