The Forgotten Man Behind Tesla’s Experiments with Patric Ryan

Why do forgotten figures make such powerful stories? Some see Nikola Tesla as a genius. Others see a myth. But what if part of his story has been missing all along? In this episode, I’m joined by Patric Ryan, who has spent years uncovering not just Tesla’s work, but the people around him. Because Tesla didn’t work alone. We explore the experiments, the risks, and the ideas that shaped the modern world… alongside the story of Kolman Czito, the assistant who saved Tesla’s life, then disappeared from history. From an unmarked grave to a rediscovered legacy, this is a story about the people history forgets and what happens when someone decides to go looking for them.We also explore how stories like this sit right on the edge of history and mystery. Why some figures become legends while others disappear and what happens when someone starts searching for the missing pieces. This conversation isn’t just about Tesla, it’s about rediscovering the gaps in history, and the stories still waiting to be told.If you’re drawn to hidden history, forgotten names, and real-world mysteries that feel stranger than fiction, you’re going to enjoy this one.In this Episode, We Explore: Forgotten figures can be just as compelling as famous ones – sometimes the most powerful stories are the ones history almost lost.Mystery fuels engagement – gaps in the historical record invite curiosity, interpretation, and storytelling.Real-world stories can feel like fiction – especially when they involve secrecy, erased records, and unanswered questions. It’s always about people – even in stories about great inventors, it’s the human connections that bring everything to life.Episode Timestamps: 02:05 - Patric’s Tesla Origin Story03:50 - Who Was Nikola Tesla05:34 - War of Currents Explained07:29 - World’s Fair to Colorado12:13 - Wireless Power and Coverup14:53 - The Assistant Who Saved Him17:17 - Missing Memorial to Statue22:22 - Czito’s Legacy After Tesla24:57 - FBI Seizure and Secrets27:25 - Marking Forgotten Graves29:57 - Why Tesla Matters to PatricGot a Story Idea?If you have a mystery, legend, or adventure you’d like me to explore, drop a comment or email me at [email protected].
