Welcome to the final episode of The Wild Wild Wes, where Ben Friedman and Jalaal Ahmad break down everything Wes Anderson. This week we covered Wes' 2021 Journalism Anthology film, 'The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening San.' The film follows a newspaper publishing their final issue. Broken into 4 anthology stories: "The Cycling Reporter," "The Concrete Masterpiece," "Revisions to a Manifesto," and "The Private Dining Room of a Police Commissioner. 'The French Dispatch' stars Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Lea Seydoux, Henry Winkler, Frances McDormand, Timothee Chalamet, Christoph Waltz, Jeffrey Wright, Liev Schreiber, Stephen Park, Edward Norton, Tony Revolori, and Saoirse Ronan. So join Jalaal and Ben as they discuss this very unique film within Anderson's filmography, and see if they agreed with all of the choices made by Anderson (Just a hint, we did not). This week they dive into anthology storytelling and its strengths and weaknesses, stereotypes of female journalists, Chalamet in a bath tub, and the state of Journalism within the 21st century. Also, we announce who was crowned "The Best Wes Anderson character" as well as the winners of The Wild Wild Wes tournament.
