The French Quarter is getting a high-tech crime-fighting upgrade

A new 24/7 “Drone as First Responder” program is one step closer to launch after officials approved the final budget move needed to spend $250,000 on a dedicated drone and docking station. The drone can reach 911 scenes in under two minutes—often before officers arrive. Greg Rusovich, Chair of the Metro Crime Commission, joins Newell to discuss what it means for public safety, privacy, and policing in the Quarter.
