The Fresh Prince & Old Debt

Coming off the heels of watching The Fresh Prince reunion show, I wanted to discuss not only the importance of the show and the reunion but also the nuances and perceptions I picked up around the 10 minute interaction between Will Smith and Janet Hubert and it’s importance and the themes of treatment of black women in society and the importance of forgiveness. I further the themes of race and debt into the discussion and outrage from the second round of conversations about the idea of cancelling student debt and my perspective and position on it.
