The Fruit Inspector: Good Tree, Good Fruit

Jesus teaches that the fruit of our lives reveals the source of our lives. A tree does not produce good fruit by trying harder—it produces fruit because of what is happening beneath the surface. In this message from Matthew 7:17–20, we see that the Christian life is not simply about changing our behavior or learning how to look more spiritual. The root determines the fruit, and the fruit reveals the root. Spiritual fruit is not something we manufacture through determination or willpower. Love, joy, peace, patience, and the rest of the fruit of the Spirit are evidence that God is at work within us. People may not be able to see the root, but eventually they will experience the fruit. Jesus also gives a serious warning: a tree that produces no good fruit reveals a deeper problem. Trials and pressures often expose what has been beneath the surface all along. But the Gospel gives us hope. Jesus does not tell us to staple better fruit onto dead branches. He offers us new life. The Gospel is not, “Produce enough fruit and God will accept you.” The Gospel is, “Come to Jesus and He will make you alive.” So the question is not simply, “How can I look more fruitful?” The deeper question is, “What am I rooted in?” 📖 Matthew 7:17–20 #Matthew7 #FruitInspector #GoodTreeGoodFruit #FruitOfTheSpirit #RootedInChrist #SermonOnTheMount #ChristianLiving #VictoryChurch #VictoryFallon #BiblePreaching Connect with Victory Church 🌐 Website: https://victoryfallon.org ✝️ Learn about the Gospel: https://www.vbcfallon.org/the-gospel.html 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/victoryfallon ▶️ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@victoryfallon 🎧 Listen to the Victory Fallon Sermon Podcast Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0t4b6ZUjxZktMBj4RcVdUa Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/mx/podcast/victory-fallon-sermon-podcast/id1705624263?l=en-GB 💒 Give to Victory Church https://victorychurch1185.breezechms.com/give/online
