By all accounts he was a good kid from a good family, a decent rugby player and was getting his first Christmas break home from his first year of college in 2018. On December 28th 2018 Thomas and his friends consumed some magic mushrooms, while his friends were giggling and having fun… Thomas was not… It was clear that he was having what is called a bad trip. During this bad trip, Thomas would take the life of his father and give his step mother catastrophic injuries… With a butcher knife. He would be charged with 2nd degree murder and attempted murder. Thomas Chan was sentenced to 5 years for criminal manslaughter. He spent the majority of this on house arrest.
