The Future of Gaming is Now and it’s Web3 with Karl Blomsterwall, CEO of Nibiru

from DAO Talks by Tim Delhaes @grindery.io · host Tim Delhaes

In this episode, Tim is joined by Karl Blomsterwall, the CEO of Nibiru Software. Nibiru are a Sweden-based game developer on a mission to become the largest ecosystem in Web3 and gaming. Karl also oversees the development of Polygon's top game, Planet IX. Within a year, Planet IX has become the biggest game on Polygon by transaction. The game has close to 54,000 weekly active wallets. The NFT-based strategy game is part of a sci-fi metaverse and an ecosystem with over 400 million NFTs sold. Plus, in recent months, the team has announced partnerships with Chainlink, BraveWallet, Arcade NFTs, 1Inch, One Tree Planted, Superfluid and more. Previously, Karl had a long career as an investment banker, focusing exclusively on the technology industry. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of GP Bullhound, and a consultant at Prokura. Together, Tim and Karl delve into the NFT based-game Planet IX, what it's all about and what makes it so unique in comparison to its competitors. They discuss why Nibiru chose Polygon as a side-chain to the Ethereum network; and how Web3 is growing and developing the future of gaming. Finally, they get on to talking through the process of building a community in the NFT gaming world. As well as how it can be a challenging process, especially when the initial players are still coming from the Web2 space.
