He completed his surgical training at the University of Florida Medical Center and the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he served as Chief Administrative Resident. In 1981, he joined the Boca Raton Orthopedic Group and later became an instructor for surgeons in the use of lasers for orthopedic surgery.
