The future of trade and economic security in Europe

from Newstalk Weekend

Trade is currently at the forefront of public policy, not just in the European Union but across the globe. The recent shift in US trade policy, the Chinese economic model, and the intensifying competition between the major global powers, present significant risks for the global economy. On the back of this, The European Commission and the Institute of International & European Affairs (IIEA) are co-organising a conference on Trade and Economic Security, on October 3rd 2025 in Dublin, with a focus on competitiveness and economic security in Europe. Anton is joined by EU Sanctions Envoy, David O’Sullivan  to discuss this further.
