They also discussed the potential turnout in this April election. -They continued the conversation by talking about the legacy of the departed former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, President-Elect Donald Trump's upcoming inauguration, current U.S. President Joe Biden's legacy and Trump's conversation with former U.S. President Barack Obama Urban Milwaukee president Jeramey Jannene joined Steve Scaffidi to talk about the exorbitant amount of money (aggregate billions in Jeramey’s words) that had been awarded to the City of Milwaukee from U.S. President Joe Biden and if the money would stay in the city’s possession. -They discussed more on the funding, rail transit and other things Jeramay would be covering this week. Steve Scaffidi is joined on the phone by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers. Steve starts out of the gate by asking him if he will be running for a third term, what would motivate his decision, the state budget, budget surplus, his criticisms on the Department of Public Instruction, if he’d endorse a candidate for the elected position of DPI head, the lack of school resource officers at Milwaukee Public Schools after a year of it being required by law, the new Office of Violence Prevention and more.
