He is the founder GO Corporation, whose technology was used to develop the first smartphone and tablet PC, and the co-founder of OnSale, the first B2C online auction site launched in 1994, five months before eBay. He is currently a Fellow at the Center for Legal Informatics at Stanford University and teaches ethics and impact of artificial intelligence in the Computer Science Department. Jerry Kaplan’s new book is Humans Need Not Apply: A Guide to Wealth and Work in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.
