THE FYX 007: Tapping into your Authentic Self as a Coach with Biz Washko, Personal Trainer & Army Vet

from No Such Thing with Krysta Huber · host Operation Podcast

Elizabeth, aka ‘Biz,’ Washko, is a personal trainer, future gym owner, and military veteran based in Maple Grove, MN—just outside of Minneapolis. Biz is known in the fitness industry for her bubbly personality, creative approach to workout programming, and her ability to make a profound connection with and impact on her clientele.  Biz originally planned to pursue a career in hospitality after an attempt to join the US Coast Guard—at the time, the organization was slow to accept females. After her first year of college, she discovered the ROTC program and decided to enroll, knowing that she’d always wanted to serve her country in some capacity.  Biz spent several years in the military and although she was never deployed, she completed several missions throughout Europe. She planned to be a lifer in service—until a medical diagnosis cut her time short. Returning to civilian life, Biz made her way into the fitness industry. Most recently, she spent just under two years working for Burn Boot Camp, where she led a team of trainers and staff to grow the franchised location at one of the fastest rates in its history.  Biz is now training 1:1 and semi private workouts in a home gym that she’s recently built in her basement, like many fit pros who’ve adapted to changes in the fitness world in response to COVID-19. She has plans to develop and open her own fitness concept, and the FYX chicks are excited to watch her grow. Tune into this episode to learn about: Biz’s experience in ROTC and the military The transition back to civilian life Biz’s perspective on competition in the fitness industry Establishing meaningful connections with with your clients & relating on a personal level The challenges and rewards in growing a boutique fitness studio Fill your coffee cup, sip away, and get your FYX of Coach Krysta on her new podcast.
