THE FYX 033: Losing Sight While Gaining Vision with Joe Rinaldi

from No Such Thing with Krysta Huber · host Operation Podcast

We're throwing it back to the awkward teenage years with this episode's guest, my childhood friend and fellow coach, Joe Rinaldi. Joe is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, based in Philadelphia, PA, and someone I grew up with in Westfield, NJ. As we have both ventured into the world of online coaching, podcasting, writing, and content creation, it's been incredible to reconnect to share stories, ideas, and new projects. Joe maintains an extraordinary outlook on life's circumstances and he's on a mission to serve, love, encourage, inspire and leave the world a better place than he found it in everything he does. As you'll hear firsthand, Joe has a desire to make a true and positive impact on the people around him. Joe was born with a genetic eye condition, Best Disease, that will eventually leave him blind--he has no idea how quickly his loss of sight will progress, meaning that it's entirely possible to wake up as quickly as tomorrow morning without his sight. But he's not worried about it: Joe is concerned about doing his absolute best in this moment because it’s all he has. He chooses to view his circumstances as a strength. In this episode we discuss: - The power of perservance and living with the "even if" perspective vs. the "what if" - The importance of truly living in--and embracing--the moment - What inspired Joe to take the leap into coaching, writing, and speaking full-time - Why Joe believes it's so necessary to do hard things--think: cold showers and pre-sunrise alarms - How the environment we grew up in has shaped us as individuals today Fill your coffee cup, sip away, and get your FYX of Coach Krysta and her guests on The FYX podcast.
