The Giant Serpent of the Ohio River

Cincinnati, Ohio, our hometown, has so many connections to snakes. From the ancient Serpent Mound to our north to the Serpentine Wall to our south, all signs of snakes point to Cincinnati. But would you believe that there are cryptid sightings that tie this all together? The Ohio River, that the Serpentine Wall borders, was the location of the 1878 sighting of a reported "sea serpent." A subsequent sighting followed in 1885 also in the Ohio River along Ripley County, Indiana. There were apparently earlier sightings in the late 1840s in eastern Cincinnati as well.
