The Gift of Grace

In this Church on the Move Roswell message, Pastor Troy Smothermon teaches that seasons of resistance—spiritual, emotional, financial, and relational—often appear before breakthroughs and can reveal God’s purpose and value in a believer. Using 2 Corinthians 12:7–10, he explains Paul’s “thorn in the flesh” as a messenger of Satan sent to buffet him, and emphasizes that while God did not remove the struggle, He supplied sufficient grace that empowers strength in weakness. Grace is presented as more than forgiveness: it sustains, teaches holiness (Titus 2:11–12), and breaks sin’s dominion (Romans 6:14). The sermon urges humility and submission to God to receive “more grace” (James 4:6–7), resist the devil, and stand as over-comers.
