The Gifts of the Spirit: Foundations Day 1: What Are the Gifts of the Spirit?

Awakened to Deliver – The Gifts of the Spirit: Foundations Day 1: What Are the Gifts of the Spirit? Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 12:1 (NASB 2020) “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be unaware.” ⸻ Episode Highlights • The Gifts of the Spirit are not optional—they’re essential for a Spirit-empowered life. • Many believers are unaware of the gifts or believe they’ve ceased. Scripture tells us otherwise. • These are supernatural manifestations, not personality traits or talents. • 1 Corinthians 12 lists nine gifts: word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues. • They are given by the same Spirit for the common good and the strengthening of the Church. • Abuse or misuse of the gifts doesn’t disqualify their purpose—we must pursue the real with humility and discernment. • The modern Church often neglects spiritual gifts in favor of programs and performance. God is calling us back to power and purity. • Gifts must be stirred, fanned into flame, and used with love at the center. Without love, gifts become empty noise. • Maturity is measured by the fruit of the Spirit—ministry is empowered by the gifts of the Spirit. • The gifts are God’s way of confirming the Gospel through signs, wonders, and transformation. ⸻ Scriptures to Reflect On • 1 Corinthians 12:1–11 – The Spirit gives diverse gifts for the common good. • 2 Timothy 1:6 – Stir up the gift of God within you. • Hebrews 2:4 – God confirms His word through spiritual gifts. • Galatians 5:22–23 – The fruit of the Spirit shows maturity. • 1 Corinthians 13:1–3 – Gifts without love are nothing. ⸻ Takeaway Thought The gifts of the Spirit are for every believer.
