The Gifts of the Spirit: The Gift of Discerning of Spirits Day 3 - Recognizing the Spirit Behind the Manifestation

Awakened to Deliver – The Gifts of the Spirit: Discerning of Spirits Week 30, Day 3: Recognizing the Spirit Behind the Manifestation Key Verse: 1 John 4:1 (NASB 2020) “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God…” ⸻ Episode Highlights • Not every supernatural manifestation is from the Holy Spirit—some are soulish or demonic. • The discerning of spirits reveals the true source behind a word, action, or atmosphere. • Every manifestation comes from one of three sources: the Holy Spirit, the human soul, or a demonic spirit. • True manifestations of the Holy Spirit always glorify Jesus, align with Scripture, and produce the fruit of the Spirit. • Practical tests for discernment include alignment with the Word, fruit, witness of the Spirit, and long-term impact. • We are called to guard against counterfeit manifestations while embracing what is authentically from God. ⸻ Scriptures to Reflect On • 1 John 4:1 – “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits…” • 2 Corinthians 11:14 – Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. • Acts 16:16–18 – Paul discerns the spirit of divination in the slave girl. • Matthew 7:16 – “You will know them by their fruits.” • 1 Thessalonians 5:19–21 – Test everything; hold firmly to what is good. • Galatians 5:22–23 – The fruit of the Spirit. ⸻ Takeaway Thought The gift of discernment isn’t about suspicion or fear—it’s about clarity and protection. When we test the spirits through Scripture, prayer, and the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can recognize what’s truly from God, reject the counterfeit, and guard the move of God in our lives. ⸻ Stay Connected Find all ministry links, bonus teachings, and updates in the Linktree in the show notes.
