Awakened to Deliver – The Gifts of the Spirit: Prophecy Week 29, Day 4: The Purpose and Power of Prophetic Words Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 14:3 (NASB 2020) “But the one who prophesies speaks to people for edification, exhortation, and consolation.” ⸻ Episode Highlights • Prophecy strengthens believers through edification, exhortation, and consolation. • Prophetic words confirm God’s calling, activate spiritual gifts, and bring clarity to the Church. • True prophecy flows from love and must always align with Scripture. • Prophetic words reveal hidden things to bring freedom, not shame or condemnation. • Testing prophecy is vital—every word should glorify Jesus and bear witness with the Spirit. • Mature prophetic ministry requires humility, accountability, and the fruit of the Spirit. ⸻ Scriptures to Reflect On • 1 Corinthians 14:3 – Prophecy builds up, stirs up, and lifts up. • 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 – “Do not despise prophetic utterances, but examine everything…” • 1 Timothy 1:18 – Prophetic words confirm calling and direction. • 1 Timothy 4:14 – “Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was granted to you through prophecy…” • Acts 13:2 – The Spirit’s prophetic direction for Paul and Barnabas. • Revelation 19:10 – The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. ⸻ Takeaway Thought Prophecy is a powerful tool that strengthens, confirms, and directs, but it must always flow from the Father’s heart.
