The Girls at Juniper Creek Trailhead

from The Treeline — Fexingo Horror · host Fexingo

The morning after a summer storm, Luna hikes to Juniper Creek Trailhead in Oregon's Willamette National Forest and finds a campsite abandoned mid-breakfast: eggs half-eaten, coffee still warm, a child's pink sneaker propped on a stump like a marker. The girl who left it, a seven-year-old named Emmy, is the only child in a tight-knit group of three single mothers and their daughters who've been camping here every August for a decade. But Emmy's mother is frantic—her daughter vanished from her sleeping bag between 3 and 4 a.m. with no trace but a trail of torn notebook pages leading into the woods. Every page is a drawing of the same thing: a tall, thin woman with hollow eyes and too-long arms, standing at the foot of Emmy's cot. The search party finds the drawings, the sneaker, the silence—but not Emmy. And when Luna returns to the trailhead alone after the search is called off, she finds one more drawing, pinned under the windshield wiper of her truck: a stick-figure girl holding hands with the tall woman, both of them smiling, walking into a forest that has no treeline. #JuniperCreek #Emmy #TheTallWoman #OregonForest #MissingChild #AbandonedCampsite #ChildrensDrawings #SummerStorm #WillametteNationalForest #Trailhead #SleepingBag #TornNotebookPages #HollowEyes #SingleMothers #AugustCamping #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #TheTreeline Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
