The Giving Grinch Charity and Serving Community with Miss Utah Volunteer GENTRY ROSE

from Beautiful Shifts · host Lindsay & Shantil

Gentry Rose is currently Miss Utah Volunteer, working toward her nursing degree, and involved in the non-profit charity her mom Sheena founded, The Giving Grinch, which gives to those in need at Christmastime and year-round. Gentry shares what led to becoming Miss Utah Volunteer, choosing to become a nurse, how a love for service was fostered in her life, and the heartwarming story of how Sheena started The Giving Grinch in 1996. We hear how Gentry and Sheena work together through The Giving Grinch to serve individuals in the community, ways to get involved with The Giving Grinch and thoughts on serving others. Gentry also founded a non-profit called Clean Bee where she raises funds to stock hygiene closets in our local schools. We loved getting to know Gentry and are so impressed with all she does to help others, and are excited for you to get to know her as well.    Find The Giving Grinch on Instagram @thegivinggrinch and on Facebook HERE, and at www.thegivinggrinch.org where you can find ways to support and get involved.    Find Gentry on Instagram at her personal page @gentryraerose and at the Miss Utah Volunteer page @missutvol.    Thank you so much Gentry for coming on Beautiful Shifts!   Find Beautiful Shifts on Instagram @beautifulshifts_podcast and on Facebook here.    Thank you for listening!

Wherever Life Takes Us whereverlifetakesuss Join three best friend as they explore this beautiful world! Half Ties kwamenabrace Half-ties is a conversation series on the funny, beautiful and sometimes challenging moments that interracial couples experience being with somebody who’s culturally different from them.Hosted by creative couple Olivia & Kwamena, we listen to stories about growing up with racism and prejudice; falling in love and meeting the in-laws; navigating difficult conversations within the family and in society, and how these couples make their relationship work and what they actively choose to pass down to the next generation. C.S. Lewis's The Last Battle St. Philip's Church: Charleston, SC Come join us on Wednesday nights as we explore the riches of C.S. Lewis’s marvelous book The Last Battle, which is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia. It is a remarkable book on multiple levels and was awarded the Carnegie Medal back in the 1950s when it was first published. The Last Battle has some themes in common with The Great Divorce and That Hideous Strength that will make it an excellent follow-up to those two books, and like them, it has some remarkable resonance with things going on in today’s culture. It is a book that is both theologically rich and poignantly beautiful in its writing, and it can help equip us to live boldly for Christ in a culture that has lost its way. (Although this book is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia, it can stand on its own and it is not necessary to have read the other books for this class.)
