The Glorious Church

from Victory Church Jbay · host Brent Martini

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.Matthew 6:33 (AMP)This week we are looking at Pastor Brent Martini’s sermon on the Glorious Church. He encouraged us to emerge well from the season of lockdown that we have experienced and we’re going to cover those points.Firstly, he noted that we need to emerge with a Passion for His Kingdom. Our lives should be kingdom focused. Church was not supposed to be centered around Sunday morning services. They’re important, but the foremost thing on Jesus’ mind was the Kingdom of God.We also need to emerge with a Fresh Love for the People He Created. Lockdown has pulled us apart from our communities and placed an emphasis on personal safety. We need to emerge from this place loving people unselfishly, and seeking the best for them. It will cost us something to love people, but it is the second greatest commandment God has given us.It is also vital that we emerge with a Desire to Pursue Holiness. We need to place more emphasis on holiness than relevance. Relevance is important, but it cannot replace holiness. Along with emerging with an Inspirational Faith, this is what makes us salty. Our holiness and faith are what set us apart from the world. We need to focus on the life of Jesus as our faith is in him and his life inspires us so that we can inspire others. Finally, we need to emerge as a People who are Spiritually Revived. Many of us have become worn out over the last year and a half. We need to take up responsibility for our spiritual lives once again, because God wants to bring our spiritual lives to new heights.Reflect:How are you going to be more focused on the Kingdom of God?Name one person you could love better who is not a close friend or family member. What does pursuing holiness look like for you?Does your spiritual life need revival? If so, ask your group to pray for you.
