Morning Mantra: "Everything is a win when the goal is experience."

When I taught riding lessons and took my students to horse shows I used to tell them that they will either win or learn. So basically there is no losing. Life is one long lesson. We learn with everything we do.

We spend every day making choices. Sometimes it's a simple choice- not really going to impact the rest of your life- like what to order in a new restaurant. Other times the choices are huge- like whether to take a certain job or to get married.

In every choice we learn. We gain experience. In our examples above- if we order the wrong thing we learn what not to order next time, if it's something really great we win. Either way we win. If we take a job and the company atmosphere is toxic- we learn. If it's the best job ever- we win. Again- both wins.

As with everything in life- it is our response to our choices that matters. It's our attitude about the outcome that determines our happiness. If you look at things as a learning experience, not as life punishing you, even the losses become wins.
