God often allows hardship so we will discover that real hope is not found within ourselves, but in Him alone. Finally, the church has a responsibility to support one another through prayer. Paul called on fellow believers to pray, showing that God’s deliverance often works through the prayers of others. Prayer is not passive—it is powerful. When we pray, we participate in God’s rescue work and become channels of His comfort to those who are hurting.
