The God of the World and History

Isaiah 13-27 | Isaiah: A Vision of Two Cities| Trent Hunter With this sermon we continue in our five-part series through the book of Isaiah, A Vision of Two Cities. Chapters 13–27 are powerful, uncomfortably so. From start to finish, we read of judgment after judgment. This is the kind of section that makes our head spin. But when we consider the original readers and Isaiah’s purpose, then we may begin to see our sin in a new light, as well as God’s glorious saving strength. Last week we met the God of unapproachable holiness who comes to unholy people and makes them to sing. With this sermon we meet the God of the world and history who is strong to do what He says.
